Product Description

"Cabaret" is the title song for the musical of the same title written in 1966.  The story takes place in a nightclub setting in 1932 in Weimar, Germany and the song is sung by Sally Bowles. The most recognizable rendition of this song was done by Liza Minelli in the 1972 film version of the musical. This String Trio arrangement begins pizzicato by all 3 instruments for the introduction, then switches to a snappy detache stroke.  A key change in the middle brings in the light soft-shoe sound. Another key change for the last section ushers in the broad, grandiose rendering of the original snappy tune. This melody is very light-hearted and brisk in a peppy cut-time tempo.
