Product Description

Dragon was originally inspired by the Chinese-American actor Bruce Lee, and his
film: Enter The Dragon. As I arranged this piece, I was captivated by the
song's story as it builds from sparse beginnings into a busy roar of commotion. I
arranged this piece intending to mimic various aspects of the physical layout of
the ukulele. From rapid 32nd notes that mimic fast strumming to the grace note
patterns and chord structures mimicking the layout of ukulele strings from top to
bottom. I also wanted this piece to take advantage of the full range and sound of
the marimba, so I added an introductory chorale section and several other tweaks
that make this piece not only an ode to the beautiful ukulele sound but also a
celebration of marimba in combination with live electronic effects.
