Product Description

This piece was  composed for the 1941 film 'Dangerous Moonlight', a World War II love story with a sweeping soundtrack to match the romance of the plot. The films producers apparently approached  Rachmaninov to compose the score, but when he declined, the score for Dangerous Moonlight  and the Warsaw Concerto  was composed by Richard Addinsell.

The composers unashamed use of indulgent harmonies and grand Romantic gestures goes a great way towards explaining why the Warsaw Concerto remains hugely popular today.

An attractive concert item, scored for 2122 2230 Timpani and Strings. All parts including the piano solo are included together with the full score. If used in a concert programme of similar works you might like to also programme Charles Williams  'Dream of Olwen' for piano and orchestra using similar forces. Arranged by Marcus Martin.
