Product Description

This piece for three cellos is built on an insistent and urgent rhythmic ostinato, around which the other two parts bounce mostly short melodic ideas off each other. The technical difficulty is not too high, especially in parts 2 and 3, and would be a good piece for introducing odd meter to intermediate students, as the piece is in 5/4 throughout with fairly consistent rhythmic emphasis. In form it's effectively a blues, with sections being AABA with the B section moving to the subdominant.
