The Sound of Silence is a song by American folk rock duo Simon and Garfunkel, written by Paul Simon. A first version of the song was released in 1964 on the album Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M., it is an acoustic version. But their producer recorded an electric version without their knowledge the following year, it was part of the eponymous album published in 1966. The song then enjoyed immense success.
