Possibly dating from the Middle Ages, this English folk tune was first published with secular lyrics in English County Songs, an anthology compiled in 1893. It was first introduced as a hymn tune in The English Hymnal of 1906 set to the words of Horatius Bonars I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say. It is also commonly sung to Louis Bensons Christmas carol "O Sing a Song of Bethlehem" and Fred Pratt Green's Passion hymn "To Mock Your Reign, O Dearest Lord." The tune is named for the English town of Kingsfold. Also available scored for brass quintet. Level M - Duration 2:40
