He wrote the song at his friend Eric Clapton's house, whilst he was avoiding a dull business meeting. It peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart in September 1969 and as of 2021, it was the most streamed Beatles song on Spotify globally. Reflecting the continued influence of Indian classical music on Harrison's writing, the composition includes several time signature changes, which may present a few challenges to players initially, but this wonderful song would make an excellent choice in a concert for all ages.
