(for Pastel I: The Staircase)
I. A version may be made in which ambient drones selected for their soft, not harsh, drone-like
quality accompany the pianist. The cell phone players may stand around the piano playing the
drones in the body of the instrument without touching any strings; the pianist will catch the
drone sounds ad libitum. These drones emerge from #10, and continue until #1.
II. A microphone for the voice of the pianist should be used to capture the whispered go
down, and deeper. The microphone should only capture the pianists voice and not the
piano itself.
