You Raise Me Up is a song whose melody was composed by Rolf Lovland, from Secret Garden, and lyrics by Brendan Graham. It was released in 2002, on the album Once in a Red Moon, sung by Irishman Brian Kennedy. The song was originally composed to be instrumental, called Silent Story. Rolf then asked Irish novelist and composer Brendan Graham to write the lyrics, after reading his works. The song has already been recorded by several artists and groups such as Celtic Woman and Westlife.
