Product Description

In 2012 the Poor Claire Sisters, Galway released a book of prayers and poems called Calm the Soul. The book became an instant hit and became the number 1 best seller in Ireland for a number of weeks.

The title poem touched those who read it so deeply, that the sisters thought that a musical setting of the words could make it more widely accessible and having experimented with various tunes they came up with a melody that draws on the musical motifs of a traditional Irish love son. The music captures the essence of the text beautifully.

This setting is arranged by Ian Callanan for Piano, SAB Choir, Flute and Oboe. An accompanying recording is also available for download.
