Orpheus in the Underworld (Orphée aux enfers) by Jacques Offenbach was premièred in Paris in 1858 as a two-act opéra bouffelate 19th-century French style operetta. The overture, which this transcription is based on, was arranged and added for the Vienna production in 1860 by Carl (Karl) Binder.

This transcription is for concert band, transposed up a half-step from the Carl Binder score, with full score (pp. 132), piccoloharp (pp. 33149), and transposed parts (pp. 150200).

A printed score and the parts on CD-ROM are available for purchase at www.kasamamusic.com.
