Duration: c. 9 minutes. Maestoso introduction followed by three uninterrupted movements: Allegretto, Lullaby and Jubilant. The movements are composed original themes invoking three holiday moods: playful/outdoor winter fun, prayerful/meditative, and celebratory/grandiose. The movements also briefly and subtly incorporate well known melodies: Jingle Bells, Silent Night and Angels We Have Heard on High. With a little rearranging each movement could be performed independently; similarly, any C instrument could play the flute's part, adjusting the octaves as needed. Separate flute part is included.
