My Elegy brings a musical blessing for both the "Black and Blue" communities as a musical prayer for peace and understand between the two groups. Elegy was written as a Trumpet sonata a few decades ago for the outstanding trumpet player Ralph Dudgeon. He has performed it often and the new Elegy Trio version was performed by Eastfield College faculty member Oscar Passley. It begins and ends with a peaceful hymn-like melody echoed in the trumpet and cello. The middle section portrays a battle scene with wild rhythm clashes.
