This work recently won the 2019 International Piano Guild Composition Competition for its outstanding representation of each emotional phase and creativity in melody, harmony, and technique.
This piano solo set attempts to capture the phases of a panic attack and the emotions that go along with each phase. This polytonal set is written in six movements, the first begins with 6 pitches and each subsequent movement adds an additional pitch. There is one pitch that is left out in an effort to leave with a feeling of dissatisfaction.
