You walk into the darkened room, already anxious in the silence. In the corner, there is a small, wooden cupboard. Creaking in the shadows. Suddenly, the door swings open! And, a mouse crawls out. Hopefully, that is all that was in the cupboard.

The completion of this piece has been a long time coming. Initially started as an excuse to use strange percussion instruments and tense chords swells, "Haunted Cupboards" has evolved into a cheeky polka dance about ghosts. Further, the subtitle notes it as "an essay in Harmonic Septphrygian" which is a new scale of my own creation. It is simply built by lowering the 2nd and raising the 7th scale degrees, then removing the 5th.

Includes a legal-sized score and a letter-sized set of parts.
