Product Description

Bodiam Castle was originally composed for trombone quartet. Across the four parts, this horn quartet edition exploits the full range of the horn. This piece is in a Turmmusik (tower music) style and is best performed when, at the start, the four players stand in the four corners of the room or at least four corners of the stage as directed in the parts. The "battle" between the first and third horns (which can be played with or without mutes) gives the other two players time to move to the center of the room (or stage) for the second half of the piece, where they perform their own contrapuntal duet. They are later joined by the first and third players so that the final section of the piece is performed with all players standing in the center of the room (or stage).
