Originally written in the key of A minor for violin, this arrangement of Vivaldi's Concerto in D minor has been transposed for Solo Viola to be accompanied by chamber strings. The bass part has been slightly modified to eliminate some octave jumps that would otherwise be too heavy for the style or require an extension. Violin 2, Viola 2, and Bass drop out during "solo" parts, and begin playing again during "tutti" moments. This is the first movement only.
