This was conceived as a trombone/low brass section feature to be programmed as part of a school band concert. The trombones can walk out in front of the concert band to perform, while your other band members rest their chops...it breaks things up nicely.

This can also be done as a quartet, without the solo part. I encourage you to feature soloist(s) however, when possible.

You can assign more than one to a part on everything except the improvised jazz solo segments with chord changes.

The written out "jazz solo" can have more than one player, provided that you have balance throughout your section.

If portions of the upper melody go too high for your trombonists, feel free to adjust and drop the octaves when needed.

Everyone should adopt a fluid, relaxed approach throughout...make it "sound" easy :)
