A student who is used to playing chords in thirds (tertian harmony) is exposed to chords built in perfect fourths (quartal harmony) in this piece. There are also a few brief sections of bi-tonality to "wake-up the ear" just a bit. Very easy to learn because of the repetitive "basso ostinato" of the left hand.
