Rowena Harper

With a general love for singing in multiple genres, Rowena was a trained Bel Canto coloratura soprano through school.  She started singing pop, rock and jazz with the Affirmation Band through her university years, singing at private and corporate functions. 

Rowena has been singing SAI barbershop as a tenor for since 2007, joining BHNZ a few years later to sing in a mixed quartet with her brother.  She is now an Approved Music Arranger and a Certified Director through Sweet Adelines International, and was the recipient of the 2021 SANZ Education Scholarship, and most recently, recieved the 2024 Lou Perry Barbershop Arranging Scholarship.

Rowena specializes in modern a cappella show arrangements that are true to the original song, and now has a reputation internationally for these genres.  More recently she has branched out into contest arrangements, and is now a sought after arranger of contest barbershop for several international level choruses and quartets in the main three international barbershop organisations.
