Anthony Giamanco was born in Detroit, Michigan, and has been a professional musician since the
age of 17. He attended Eastern Michigan University, where his musical studies included voice, piano,
organ and composition.
His compositions appear in the catalogs GIA, Augsburg Fortress, Lorenz, Alfred Music, The Leupold
Foundation, and Paraclete Press, among others, and include works for choir, piano, organ, handbells,
solo voice, and chamber ensembles. To date, he has published over 350 works.
A musical collaboration with hymn writer Adam M. L. Tice resulted in their hymn “God Bestows on
Every Sense” being included in All Creation Sings (Augsburg Fortress 2020), a liturgy and song
supplement to Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
Anthony’s choral arrangement of “Love Comes Trick-a-lin’ Down” has been a popular item in GIA’s
catalog. JW Pepper has earmarked several of his compositions with the Editors’ Choice label,
including “God Bestows on Every Sense,” “Winter,” and “Be Joyful, Mary, Heavenly Queen,” as well
as a collection of organ and piano duets, From Lent to Ascension.
