His approach is wide and various. He reimagines classical favourites with 21st century technology and rewrites modern pop as if it was created 250 years ago.
Andrew's music appeals to the many different types of people who are now becoming much more attracted to the classical 'style' of music. This new audience likes classical but wants something which speaks more directly to them. Check out his
YouTube channel Andrew's original training was as a violinist and composer at the Royal Academy of Music. His musical career has been wide and various including having been Head of Music in a central London school. He was one of the first music teachers to adopt an approach to music tuition employing the medium of music improvisation. The teenagers in his schools found the approach refreshing and spoke to them in their 'language'. Other educators subsequently developed the methodology across a number of settings.
For over twenty years he has been heavily involved in the continuing development of improvisation particularly in applications outside the boundaries of music.
He is now Director of
Mastering Chaos: The Musician's Way which focuses on bringing to the fore the qualities amateur musicians already have deep within them to help them improve their mental health, develop a greater sense of their own resilience, and to help them handle the more testing parts of their life.
He is also the Founder & Editor of
Sound Forum the world's leading music improvisation, sound healing & sound therapy website.
And he just loves writing and arranging music.
