David Perkins
DAVID PERKINS has composed several major works for choirs including Flying: an aerodynamic cantata, commissioned and performed in 2016 in association with Hillingdon Council and the Central Band of the RAF, and Re:Creation: an oratorio, receiving its professional London premiere at St John’s, Smith Square in 2008 with subsequent performances at Methodist Central Hall and Guildford’s Holy Trinity Church.

Other compositions and arrangements include Treasure Island (Leicester Haymarket) co-written with Jenifer and Sandi Toksvig; Christmas at the Snow Globe (Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre); The Railway Children (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre / Watercress Line / Didcot Steam Museum), and UK tours of The Nutcracker, Arabian Nights and an adaptation of David Baddiel’s book, AniMalcolm (Story Pocket Theatre).

Published music includes Four Little Pieces for Piano (Spartan Press) and several stage musicals including Shake, Ripple & Roll, The Selfish Giant, The Happy Prince, and The Mystery of Dumsey Meadow (Samuel French); The Wind in the Willows and Arabian Nights (StageScripts). These and other published shows were first performed at Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre where David was musical director and composer for over 25 years. They have since been regularly performed  around the world on every continent (except Antarctica!)
