Brandon Nelson

Brandon Nelson (b. 1982, Ishpeming, MI, USA) composes in a colorful, distinctive voice, making use of virtually the whole spectrum of musical styles. Working primarily on commission, his work has enjoyed frequent performance the world over. He holds a BME degree from Northern Michigan University, an MM in Composition degree from Central Michigan University, and a certificate in nursing. He studied composition under David Gillingham and the late Jose-Luis Maurtua. He lives in Michigan with his wife, 3 kids, 5 cats, and terminal cancer.
